J oshua married Jane Reid 25th December 1861. They had four sons and five daughters. Their third son, George Arthur, was killed during a football match on 3rd December 1887. He was 21. Joshua was a furniture broker and had a shop in Water Lane and regularly advertised furniture in the Leeds papers.
