Herbert Houghton

Herbert married Evelyn May Shaw in 1922 and the couple had Herbert (29^th September 1923) and Ronald (1926).  He died in 1951 the same year as his half-brother Walter who was twenty years younger.

It is interesting that his complexion is described as ‘dark’ in his army record.  It is possible that the natural sun tan of some members of the family came through the Houghton’s or the Delaney’s.

Herbert’s occupation is registered as a School Caretaker in 1939. He and his Wife Evelyn and his son Herbert are living at 9 Meanwood Road, Leeds.

16 year old Herbert Jr’s occupation is registered as “Van Boy”.
