Charles was born on 21st July 1887. He became a postman and by 1939 was a head postman. He married Gladys Greenwood in 1915 and they had one daughter – Vera – who was born in 1916.
Gladys died in August 1975 at 5 Halliday Drive Leeds and was buried on 28th August in Armley Hill Top Cemetery.
