James, an Agricultural Labourer, married Charlotte Vials on 4th May 1845.
He married Jane Burton, twenty years his junior, on 28th February 1875.
Having survived both in 1901 he is living in the Grammar School and Hospital in Clipstone High Street – the building still survives – as a ‘hospital pensioner.’
