Charlotte was a member of the Vials family that had lived in Kelmarsh, the next village to Clipstone, about as far back as records go.
She and James had nine children – Samuel (25.03.1846), William (30.04.1848), Arthur (30.06.1850), Thomas (20.04.1851), Hannah (1853), Charles (15.06.1855), Mary (1857), Charlotte Elizabeth who went to Leeds as well (08.05.1859), James (02.06.1861).
